Privacy Policy

Last updated June 18, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Selane.io, LLC (“Selane.io,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit selane.io (the “Site”) or otherwise interact with us. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.

Who We Are

Selane.io is a web consulting business based in Los Angeles, California, United States. We help consultants, coaches, and experts build automated, client-generating online systems. If you have any questions about this Policy or your information, you can reach us at privacy@selane.io.

Information We Collect

Information you provide to us

We collect information you choose to give us, including:

  • Contact and inquiry details — when you book a call, complete a form, subscribe to our email list, or email us, we collect information such as your name, email address, and anything you include in your message.
  • Scorecard responses — if you complete the Business Machine Scorecard, we collect your answers, your resulting score and tier, and the name and email you provide to receive your results.
  • Communications — records of your correspondence and interactions with us.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, some information is collected automatically through server logs, cookies, and similar technologies. This may include your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, referring website, the pages you view, and the dates and times of your visits.

Information from third parties

When you schedule a call through our booking provider or interact with our emails, those providers may share information with us — for example, your scheduling details, or whether you opened or clicked an email.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies that fall into a few categories: essential cookies that keep the Site working; analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors use the Site; and advertising cookies that help us measure and deliver relevant ads. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Site functions. See “Analytics and Advertising” below for the specific tools we use and how to opt out.

Some browsers and extensions send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for DNT, we do not respond to DNT signals; where required by law, we treat a recognized GPC signal as a request to opt out of “sharing” for the browser it comes from.

Analytics and Advertising

We use Google Analytics (provided by Google) to understand how visitors find and use the Site. It uses cookies and similar identifiers to collect information such as your IP address, the pages you visit, and how you interact with the Site, and reports it to us in aggregate. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

We also use the Meta Pixel (provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to show relevant ads to people on Facebook, Instagram, and other Meta services. The Meta Pixel may collect information about your visit and device and share it with Meta. You can manage this through your Meta ad preferences, and you can opt out of interest-based advertising through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) and the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (youronlinechoices.eu).

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • provide the Site and respond to your inquiries, bookings, and requests;
  • deliver your scorecard results and the services you ask for;
  • send emails you have signed up for, including tips, resources, and updates (you can unsubscribe at any time);
  • operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
  • understand how the Site is used and measure the effectiveness of our content;
  • measure and improve our marketing and advertising, including showing relevant ads on third-party platforms;
  • comply with our legal obligations and protect our rights, our clients, and our users.

Email Marketing

If you join our email list — including by requesting your scorecard results — we may send you occasional emails with tips, resources, and updates. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We manage our email list using Mailster within our WordPress site. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails but does not affect emails necessary to provide a service you have requested.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, like many websites, we use analytics and advertising technologies (such as Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel) that disclose information to those providers — which may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under certain laws, including California's. You can opt out as described in “Analytics and Advertising” above and “Your Privacy Rights” below. Apart from that, we share information only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — with trusted third parties that perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, email delivery, scheduling, and analytics. They may only use your information to provide those services to us.
  • Advertising and analytics partners — with providers such as Google and Meta, as described above, to measure and deliver advertising.
  • Legal and protection — when required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Selane.io, our clients, or others.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy.

Third-Party Services We Use

We rely on trusted third parties to operate the Site and our business. These currently include:

  • Our website host — stores and serves the Site and its data;
  • Calendly — scheduling and booking of calls;
  • Mailster — managing our email list within our WordPress site;
  • Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon Web Services) — delivering our emails;
  • Google Analytics (Google) — understanding how the Site is used;
  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — measuring and delivering advertising;
  • Google Fonts — serving the fonts used on the Site, which may expose your IP address to Google.

Each provider has its own privacy policy that governs how it handles your information.

International Visitors and Data Transfers

The Site is hosted in the United States, and we operate from the United States. If you access the Site or provide information from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.

Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, communicate with you, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete your information as described below.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to:

  • access the information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • delete your information;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • withdraw consent (for example, by unsubscribing from our emails);
  • receive a copy of your information in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@selane.io. We will respond as required by applicable law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

California residents

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money, but our use of advertising tools such as the Meta Pixel may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out using the methods in “Analytics and Advertising” above, by broadcasting a Global Privacy Control signal, or by contacting us at privacy@selane.io.

EU, EEA, and UK residents

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing your information include your consent (for example, email subscriptions), performance of a contract (for example, delivering services you request), our legitimate interests (for example, operating and improving the Site), and compliance with legal obligations. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16, or under 13 as defined by the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Links to Other Sites

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not operate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and significant changes may also be communicated through the Site or by email. Your continued use of the Site after the changes take effect means you accept the revised Policy.
